This is an accountability group specifically focused for young moms, because we are young moms, but any woman is welcome.
Our goal is to help Women at Rancho del Rey Church have a daily personal devotional and prayer time. As well as get the support and encouragement needed to keep going as a Christian Wife and Mother. For the devotional time we use a Verse-by-Verse approach. Once a week we come together as a group and discuss what we learned/what God is teaching us. Scripture reading is posted weekly on this site, as well as resources to get you started and help you to continue to grow.
This group is intentionally flexible to fit the level of accountability each woman needs. Some women come early to our meetings and other come later. Some come only occasionally while others are there weekly. Hopefully some that can’t come will join us through this blog by leaving comments. Children are encouraged to come to our meetings. Our discussion is intermingled with interaction with our children (See Weekly Meetings for more info).
The Background: The need for this group stemmed from my personal need to have accountability, especially with my time with God, but my lack of time to engage in a full on (time consuming) Bible Study. With a young child it was difficult enough to find personal discipleship time, let alone fill out a Bible Study book. The next obstacle was what to do with my son while I met. I can’t afford to pay someone to watch him. Then through interaction at a park with other moms, I found my support system. (Thank you Sarah, Sharon and Hannah!) So then the connection was easy. Why can’t we do what we are naturally doing in an intentional way and help other women at our church? So here we are. I hope you are blessed through this site
